Information Technology Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to gather and analyze business requirements, model processes, and prepare detailed requirement specifications. The role acts as a key liaison between end users, solution teams, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring business needs are clearly translated into effective technology solutions. The position also supports testing activities and may include project timeline and vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Analysis

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for enhancements and new projects.
• Prepare User Requirement Specifications (URS) and related documentation.
• Model current and future business processes to identify improvement opportunities.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Act as the primary point of contact between business users, solution teams, and vendors.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings; present findings and provide regular project updates.
• Manage stakeholder expectations through clear, timely, and confident communication.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Prepare test scenarios and test plans.
• Perform readiness testing and integration testing prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Manage and monitor UAT execution, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved.
• Investigate user-reported issues, propose solutions, and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.

Process Improvement & Innovation

• Develop a strong understanding of existing business processes.
• Identify opportunities to streamline, optimize, or automate processes.
• Assess new ideas and solutions for feasibility and business value.

Project & Vendor Support

• Support project timeline planning and delivery activities.
• Assist with vendor coordination and management, where applicable.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Hands-on experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Domain knowledge in Insurance or Financial Services (e.g. Processing, Claims, Operations) is preferred.
• Familiarity with Java and web/internet technologies is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering quality outcomes on time.
• Reliable, adaptable, proactive, and a strong team player.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst.
• Prior experience in the Insurance and/or Financial Services sector is required.
• Experience in project management and vendor management is an added advantage.
