Company- nexusX Company- nexusX
Location-Mumbai, Maharashtra
Employment-Full-Time
Experience- 3–4 years in labor-intensive industry preferred
ABOUT nexusXnexusX, based in Dubai, UAE, is an engineering-led transformation company focused on advancing the competitiveness of labor-intensive manufacturing, with particular expertise in the apparel industry. Through its proprietary SmartLean Agility™ philosophy, nexusX integrates advanced manufacturing engineering, Lean-Agile principles, data, intelligence, and systemic transformation to redesign how factories operate, flow, adapt, evolve, and compete.
THE OPPORTUNITYnexusX is recruiting Industrial Engineers who want to move beyond traditional Industrial Engineering and develop the capabilities required for the next generation of manufacturing in India.
Selected engineers will undertake an intensive three-month nexusX capability development program designed to develop their knowledge and practical capability in the SmartLean Agility™ manufacturing philosophy, engineering systems, and transformation approach.
The objective is not simply to recruit an Industrial Engineer. It is to develop an engineer capable of understanding manufacturing as an integrated system and contributing to real factory transformation in the new era of manufacturing.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN AND DEVELOP· Understand the SmartLean Agility™ manufacturing philosophy.
· Analyze manufacturing systems from a systemic rather than isolated-process perspective.
· Identify productivity, flow, capacity, quality, utilization, and cost losses.
· Identify systemic gaps and analyze their underlying causes.
· Cluster operational wastes and performance losses according to systemic gaps.
· Apply appropriate Systemic Kaizen Enablers to address identified gaps.
· Analyze manufacturing flow, manpower, capacity, workload, and resource utilization.
· Understand sectional and end-to-end manufacturing system architecture.
· Use operational data and KPIs to diagnose performance deviations.
· Design, test, and refine improved manufacturing conditions.
· Support the transition toward intelligent, adaptive, flow-driven manufacturing systems.
· Work effectively with management, engineering teams, supervisors, and shop-floor employees during transformation.
CANDIDATE PROFILEWe are looking for industrial engineers with a strong foundation and, more importantly, the ability and willingness to learn a fundamentally different approach to manufacturing.
· Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
· Preferably 2–4 years of labor-intensive manufacturing experience.
· Practical understanding of Industrial Engineering fundamentals.
· Good analytical and numerical capability.
· Experience with time study, work measurement, capacity, productivity, line balancing, process analysis, or similar IE activities.
· Strong Excel and data-analysis capability.
· Good communication and problem-solving skills.
· Willingness to work extensively on the factory floor.
· Ability to challenge conventional practices and learn new engineering concepts.
· Willingness to travel within India and internationally.
Experience in apparel, textiles, footwear, leather goods, or other labor-intensive manufacturing industries is preferred.
THREE-MONTH CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENTThe successful candidate will enter a structured three-month SmartLean Agility™ Industrial Engineering Capability Development Program delivered by nexusX.
Engineers will progressively apply what they learn to actual manufacturing conditions rather than relying only on classroom training. Successful completion will prepare the engineer to participate in nexusX factory transformation assignments and work alongside factory teams in implementing the SmartLean Agility™ operating philosophy.
WHO SHOULD APPLYThis opportunity is particularly suited to an Industrial Engineer who does not want to remain limited to traditional time study, line balancing, efficiency calculation, and routine IE activities.
- We are looking for people who want to become next-generation manufacturing engineers capable of understanding, diagnosing, designing, and evolving complete manufacturing systems.
