JOB SUMMARY:
The Industrial Designer III is responsible for interacting with all teams throughout the Generac global organization contributing to product development, innovation and marketing. The III Level will not only contribute, but regularily lead design translation and project momentum by helping inspire and lead Engineering and Marketing team members through owning strategic conversation, brainstorming sessions, renderings, illustrations, physical prototypes, 3-D models and other forms of samples.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in industrial design, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years design experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience designing for widely varying audience's (all Business Groups and ROW) and varying product
• Able to lead in phases of product development, translating innovation to concepts, working with project teams to bring concepts to production
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
70% • Work closely with sales, marketing, engineering and product teams to create concepts for redesign on products.

• Conceptualize, produce and design for projects as assigned. Assist in the creation of Visual Brand Language and keep consistency with brand standards.
• Scope and plan large complex design projects.
20% • Research new product categories and innovations outside of current product lines and communicate to upper management.
• Lead brainstorming sessions to gather innovative ideas with various groups throughout the company
10% • Mentor Industrial Designers I and II.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Must be able to create compelling, clear and focused designs that meet sales and marketing objectives.
• Demonstrates understanding of design principals, current design trends and branding excellence. • Excellent skills in communication and creativity.
• Skilled in problem solving as work is both team-based and individual, depending on the specific project.
• Ability to multitask multiple projects and tight deadlines.
• Ability to work closely with internal and external teams to create compelling clear design work.
• Ability to effectively use SolidWords, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchbook Pro
• Must be able to create compelling brand standards, follow brand standards and understand how to adapt them when working on complex projects
• Ability to work independently from start to finish on multiple projects within a team environment across a large global organization
