Job Description

Join JPMorganChase's India Branch Cash Equity Operations team and take ownership of trade settlement, client coordination, and operational accuracy across the full trade lifecycle. This role offers strong exposure to Indian equity markets and regulatory frameworks, with real opportunity to grow your expertise.

As an Analyst in India Branch Cash Equity Operations, you will support broking operations across trade contracting, settlement, accounting, and reconciliation. You will coordinate with clients, custodians, exchanges, depositories, and overseas desks to ensure accurate and timely processing in line with regulatory and internal standards. You will handle exchange reporting, respond to client and regulatory queries, and contribute to process improvements and strategic projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound risk awareness, and the ability to perform consistently under pressure.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute trade contracting and settlement across the end-to-end trade lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate with clients, custodians, exchanges, depositories, banks, and overseas desks to facilitate smooth trade processing and settlement.
  • Prepare and send trade confirmations in line with regulatory and internal documentation standards.
  • Manage trade settlement and accounting processes, including bank accounting and ledger reconciliation.
  • Prepare management information reporting to support business decisions and operational transparency.
  • Respond to client and regulatory queries within agreed service level timelines, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Handle exchange reporting submissions to the Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange, and other regulatory bodies accurately and on time.
  • Perform root-cause analysis to increase straight-through processing rates and reduce client inquiries.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support strategic projects with product, technology, and change partners.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in stock broking operations, including trade contracting, settlements, accounting, reconciliations, and coordination with banks, custodians, exchanges, and depositories.
  • Good accounting knowledge with proficiency in financial data reconciliation and ledger management.
  • Strong knowledge of stock broking regulations, including Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across clients, custodians, exchanges, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage high volumes with discipline and focus in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with comfort using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, UiPath, and OwlDQ.
  • Strong risk and control mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Understanding of India stock exchange broking operations, trade lifecycle, reconciliation rules, and custody coordination.
