Independent Contractor - SAP Workflow Job

SUMMARY: The Senior ABAP Workflow Developer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of workflow solutions to support complex business applications. This role involves translating business/customer requirements into comprehensive enterprise application designs and collaborating with SAP Functional Consultants and business users to analyze alternatives and offer informed recommendations. Also prepare programming specifications, diagrams, and coding logic flowcharts to support modifications and installations of enterprise applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and implement SAP ABAP workflows based on business requirements.
• Workflow Management:Build and enhance standard/custom SAP Business Workflows via Workflow Builder and Business Object Builder. Maintain container mapping, rule-based agents, deadlines, and event bindings.
• Create RICEFW objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, forms, enhancements. Implement ALE/EDI/IDocs, BADIs, exit points, and RFCs
• Develop centralized entry point for workflow approvals, streamline task management, enhance user experiences, and enable seamless task processing through BTP Platforms SAP Task Center and SAP Mobile Start for multiple SAP and third-party applications.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to gather workflow requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Monitor and troubleshoot existing workflows to ensure they operate smoothly and efficiently.
• Enhance existing workflows to improve performance and better meet client needs.
• Provide documentation for workflow specifications, procedures, and updates.
• Stay informed about SAP workflow tools and best practices and share knowledge with team members.
• Ability to work as an independent contributor and able to take right decisions following best practices of SAP.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Solve complex technical issues related to the SAP S/4 systems and modules.
• Manage Operational Support: Perform work during change windows as well as providing on call support as required, Flexible to support over off business hours occasionally based on business criticalities.
• Testing and QA: Oversee testing efforts, including the creation of test plans and cases, to ensure that all SAP solutions function as expected.
• Documentation: Document system configurations, design decisions, and technical solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Compliance: Ensure all SAP activities adhere to regulatory standards and company policies.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 12 years of SAP ABAP experience with strong Workflow development across S/4 HANA, ECC, and R/3. Having SAP BTP footprint is strongly preferred for extending workflows to mobile applications.

• Hands-on experience integrating backend SAP and non-SAP applications.
• Workflow Management:Build and enhance standard/custom SAP Business Workflows via Workflow Builder and Business Object Builder. Maintain container mapping, rule-based agents, deadlines, and event bindings
• Hands-on experience in SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 custom development is an added advantage.
• Development experience in RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Reports& Workflow)
• Experience working with BADIs, User exits, BTE, APIs, Screen builders and Smart Forms
• Developed, enhanced and provided production support forWorkflowsfor various teams like HR and Finance.
• Ability to develop workflows using SAP BTP platforms is preferred, to use various BTP services, Task center, Mobile applications.
• Good process knowledge in Finance & Procurement to design and develop approval workflows -like PO, Payments and other GL related processes.
• SAP HANA Technical Concept and Architecture knowledge needed.
• Expertise in configuring the standard Fiori Application and enhancing the Fiori Apps according to business requirements. (My Inbox Fiori app.)
• Experience in SAP Gateway and OData Services for UI5 development.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ABAP development and CDS.
• Experience with the design and development of interfaces / APIs with focus on re-usability and configurability.
• Must have good debugging skills.
• Familiarity with cross SAP Functional modules: Materials Management (MM), Inventory Management/Warehouse Management (IMWM), Supply Chain Management (SCM) Sales and Distribution/Reimbursables (SD), Production Planning (PP), Plant Maintenance (PM).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Capable of self-learning new technologies in other SAP cloud applications like SAP BTP, BPA and Mobile services to automate/setup workflows approvals process using multi-devise applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Building HANA Views (Attribute, Analytical & Calc Views)
• Data Modelling using HANA Studio
• Experience in facilitating the continuous improvement and support of the S/4 cloud technologies & Fiori Development, with certification is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
