Are you passionate about transforming how Finance teams leverage AI to work smarter Join Walmart's AI Center of Excellence, where you'll provide technical leadership for cuttingedge AI and Large Language Model (LLM) initiatives that empower our Finance organization.
This hybrid role combines strategic technical oversight with handson problemsolving. You'll guide teams in building intelligent AI solutions while ensuring they meet Walmart's standards for quality, scalability, and responsible AI. Your expertise in modern AI patterns-including Model Context Protocol (MCP) and RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG)-will help shape the future of AIdriven financial workflows at one of the world's largest retailers.
About Team
The AI Center of Excellence partners with business functions across Walmart to design and implement nextgeneration AI solutions that make a real difference. Our team focuses on applying modern AI and LLM capabilities to:

- Democratize AI capabilities for all associates
As part of the Finance AI COE team, you'll work at the
intersection of technology and business, helping Finance teams leverage AI to drive better outcomes for Walmart and our customers.
What You'll Do
Technical Leadership & Solution Oversight
- Provide technical direction and architectural guidance for AI/LLM initiatives supporting Finance workflows and analytics
- Review solution designs and implementation approaches to ensure alignment with best practices, governance, and responsible AI principles
- Translate complex Finance business needs into AIenabled solution strategies and actionable technical requirements
- Oversee the development of intelligent assistants that interpret natural language prompts and deliver insights
- Exposure to conversational AI architectures will be helpful
- Research, evaluate, and recommend AI platforms and services to enhance Finance processes
Modern AI Patterns & Innovation
- Guide teams in adopting and implementing modern AI patterns, including:
Model Context Protocol (MCP) for structured model interaction
RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG) for enhanced grounding and context
- Support development of natural languagedriven capabilities, conversational interfaces, and AIpowered automation
- Champion innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement in AI solution design
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability to Finance use cases
Hands-On Technical Support
- Step in handson to debug AIgenerated logic and validate system behaviour
- Optimize prompting strategies and model interactions
- Improve quality, grounding, and accuracy of AIgenerated outputs
- Validate endtoend solution performance
- Work with large datasets to ensure data structures are optimized for AI solutions
- Provide guidance on integrating AI capabilities with Business Intelligence (BI) environments and analytical workflows
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to nontechnical stakeholders
- Influence alignment across Finance, Engineering, and Data Science teams
- Foster a culture of AI literacy and responsible AI practices
- Partner with Finance leaders to identify highimpact AI opportunities
What You'll Bring
- Overall 78+ years of experience in AI/ML, analytics, software engineering, or related technical fields
- Strong understanding of contemporary AI/LLM systems:
Prompting techniques and optimization strategies
Grounding strategies for factual accuracy
Enterprise AI solution design patterns
- Experience working with large datasets and datainformed systems
- Strong SQL skills for validation, analysis, and optimization
- Exposure to Business Intelligence (BI) and analytical ecosystems
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
- Strong stakeholder partnership and crossfunctional collaboration skills
- Selfstarter mindset with curiosity, adaptability, and comfort navigating ambiguity
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying AI solutions in Finance or large enterprise environments
- Familiarity with enterprise AI governance and responsible AI practices
- Ability to evaluate and improve endtoend quality of AI solutions
- Experience debugging or enhancing AIgenerated or rapidlyprototyped applications (including vibecoded solutions)
- Knowledge of Finance workflows, analytics, and reporting requirements
- Experience with conversational AI, chatbots, or natural language interfaces
- Contributions to opensource AI projects or broader technical communities
