About Enterprise Data Portal Team:
Enterprise Data Portal (EDP) is a platform for associates to find, understand, analyze, trust and access Walmart's data. EDP's core capabilities include Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Lineage, Data Governance, AI Catalog, Data Estate, Classification and Categorization, Duplication Analysis, Retention and Purging
What you'll do:
As a Senior Software Engineer at for Walmart , you'll have the opportunity to
- Developing and enhancing platform that combines open-source frameworks and custom components for addressing Data Governance requirements of Walmart
- Contribute to the design and development of complex, scalable front-end features with a strong focus on reusability, maintainability, and long-term system health
- Utilize your proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React to build responsive and dynamic user interfaces
- Uphold the engineering and operational excellence standards and embrace automation.
- You'll partner closely with product, UX, and business stakeholders to align on vision and outcomes, ensuring the solutions you build are extensible across multiple use cases.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Lead by example and encourage knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay abreast of emerging frontend and backend technologies, make strategic architectural decisions, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Drive the architectural vision for both frontend and server-side systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experiences and ensure seamless integration. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments.
- Drive the resolution of moderate to complex incidents and problems effectively in a timely manner.
- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
What you'll bring:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ year's experience
- Expert in ReactJS + Living Design
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in one of the following language: Java, Python.
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with frameworks for building REST Services like Spring Boot, Play Framework
- Working knowledge of any RDBMS
- Working knowledge of any Search Engines (Elastic, Open search)
- Working knowledge of any Cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS)
- Experience with Data Quality tools such as Collibra etc. - nice to have
- Knowledge of Software Engineering best practices with experience on implementing CI/CD, Log aggregation/Monitoring/alerting for production system
- Intermediate capability in working with various Big Data Frameworks like Spark, Hive etc.
- Intermediate to Advanced capability in working with cloud environments like GCP, Azure etc.
- Very strong understanding and experience in the area of software development lifecycle.
- Proactively monitor, identify, and escalate issues or root causes of systemic issues
- Should have a strong problem solving, logical and analytical thinking, decision-making and excellent communication with interpersonal skills.
