This platform enables teams throughout the organization to access and analyze data efficiently and in a user-friendly manner. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the success of this platform and ensuring its continuous improvement.
GTP team enables all other business pillars across Walmart. This position is part of AI Catalog & Feature Store team and as part of this team you will be responsible to build a centralized, intelligent repository that enables discovery, governance, and operationalization of AI assets across the organization and enable critical business teams to leverage EFS platform for accurate and consistent outcomes for all the key algorithms and ML models they build and deploy. What you will do:
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll have the opportunity to
- Lead engineering and product delivery: Manage and guide developers to build and deploy solutions at scale, own the technical roadmap, and oversee end-to-end product delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders to execute multiple business plans and technologies, and foster cross-disciplinary teamwork for multi-channel shopping challenges.
- Team development and leadership: Hire, develop, and retain strong engineering talent while promoting company values, ethics, and effective communication across global teams.
- Required qualifications and skills: Candidates should have an engineering degree, over 11 years of experience including leadership of agile Scrum teams, strong Java/J2EE and microservices expertise, production support experience, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Retail or e-commerce background is advantageous.
- Manage and lead developers to successfully build and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting multi-billion-dollar business.
- Help define Technical Roadmap and own the entire product delivery end to end.
- Work very closely with various business stakeholders to drive the execution of multiple business plans and technologies
- Improve, optimize and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes
- Hire, Develop and Retain a strong team of engineers.
- Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering and management across different geographic locations
- Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelors or master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience mentoring and leading teams with overall 15+ years experience
- Proven experience in building high-performance teams and scalable best practices in Saa S/Online/Enterprise Product engineering organization
- Excellent logical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Distributed Systems Design for fault tolerance and high availability Experience Message Queue based scalable async architecture
- Experience in multi-threading for speeding up computations on multi-core processors Building for as a service model where components are multi-tenant, customizable and can be leveraged across Walmart's business verticals
- Must have experience in cloud-native distributed application patterns and tools, micro-services architectures and web application frameworks (React, Java, Spring Boot, EDI, Kafka, No SQL DBs), application migrations to any cloud platform.
- Experience with CI/CD processes and design for high scale, availability, testability and extensibility. Excellent verbal and written communication. Technical Skills
