Role: Sr. Manager External & Leader Communications, Lowe's India
Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to establish Lowe's as a thought leader in the GCC and retail/retail-tech space as well as position Lowe's India as an employer of choice. This role also serves as a communications business partner to leaders at the company as well as a partner and project manager for cross-functional corporate projects and initiatives.
This includes developing communications strategies and managing and executing complex strategic communication plans and tactics for multiple projects, simultaneously. This role ensures alignment of communications across business areas and initiatives, and to the company's strategy and key messaging focus areas.
Responsibility Statements
- Oversee and drive our PR, Speakership, Awards and Industry Relations programs.
- Supports Lowe's leaders in their internal and external visibility communications, including identifying right channels, and consulting on and crafting impactful messaging.
- Partners with key stakeholders, serving as a communications subject matter expert, and providing data and feedback-driven strategic/tactical insights to maximize communication effectiveness, including consulting on right channels, messaging, story telling approach.
- Implement a project/program management approach to drive seamless execution of initiatives and create a data driven mindset in the team to define and manage success measurements aligned to defined OKRs.
- Initiates and leads efforts to continuously improve brand messaging, processes and channels to meet audiences evolving needs.
- Collaborate with other communications team colleagues to develop and execute strategic joint programs.
- Participates in management activities and regularly meets with assigned stakeholders to advise on decisions, deliver recommendations, update/share results, and/or obtain approvals for communications activities and initiatives.
- Mentors, directs and influences team members as well as external agency partners.
- Successfully manages the execution all assigned projects within specified budgets, timelines, and allocated resources.
- Stay abreast of best practices within communications.
Required Education/Experience
- Master's degree in communications, English, Journalism, or related field
- 14-15 years experience in a communications role, preferably in a Captive or large IT/ITeS organization
- Strong project management skills and Microsoft Office mastery are essential
- Highly self-motivated and must be willing to personally own and drive multiple initiatives
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing initiatives with tight & dynamic deadlines
- Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills are required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in senior executive settings and with confidential topics
- Indirect influence skills are important the role works with people with whom s/he does not have a direct reporting relationship
- Should be skilled in organizing information and developing executive dashboards, and presenting to a range of audiences using a variety of mediums
- Attention to detail is very important in this role, as work output will be seen by large audiences.
