Aon's investment consulting business offers tailored investment consulting and fiduciary management services to pension schemes and institutional clients. The team focuses on optimizing third-party spend and supporting informed investment decisions. Aon aims to protect and enrich lives globally by providing expert advice and solutions aligned with clients financial goals and risk profiles.

The candidate will be an essential part of supporting the Investment Consulting and Global Investment Management research teams across global locations. This role is crucial to the firm's investment consulting operations, assisting in the execution and delivery of services to external clients. The primary focus will be on coordinating and completing research tasks, data collection, and analytical work, including preparing client presentations for various regional offices worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational and Customer Service Leadership: Manage all aspects of operations and customer service, including SLAs, service delivery, people management, and technology engagement.
  • Change Implementation: Drive and implement changes in people, processes, and operations to foster growth, stabilization, and an effective operating model aligned with organizational goals.
  • Domain Expertise: Utilize strong domain knowledge to resolve issues, implement changes, and effectively communicate with customers across geographies.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Plan, lead, and manage teams with multiple layers of reporting, ensuring effective coordination and communication.
  • People Development and Retention: Focus on retaining and developing talent, fostering high levels of colleague engagement to build high-performing teams.
  • Efficiency and Performance Culture: Cultivate an environment focused on quantifiable results by implementing operational metrics to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Deliverable Ownership: Take charge and ownership of deliverables to meet stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with support functions such as Quality, IT, HR, and Admin to stabilize operations and achieve delivery results.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Development: Cultivate and strengthen working relationships with stakeholders to enhance collaboration and communication
  • Project Leadership and Coordination: Demonstrate the ability to lead and coordinate ad-hoc projects effectively.

Education:

  • PGDM/MBA from Tier II Colleges and/or PG in finance, economics, business or related topics
  • Candidates pursuing CFA/ CAIA/ CIPM or equivalent professional certifications will be preferred, though not a primary criterion for shortlist.
  • Candidates pursuing CA will also be considered.

Experience:

  • Candidates with 8-10 years of strong work experience in financial services either in investment consulting, portfolio management, capital markets, investment banking, corporate banking, equity or fixed income research, financial services consulting (big 4 firms) or risk management.
  • Minimum 3+ years of team management experience preferably in the financial services industry
  • Strong leader who has managed highly productive teams and collaborated across various client accounts in professional organizations. Manages deliverables with accurate quality under fast-changing expectations in a metrics environment.
  • Ability to lead a reasonable size of team with multiple clients & high complexity and conflicting expectations.
  • Experienced in identifying and implementing the process improvements, standardization and automations impacting larger team deliverables.

Domain/skills/competencies required:

  • Excellent knowledge and background experience in financial services space, specifically in investment management industry and/or portfolio management
  • Knowledge of Pension Funds is a big plus.
  • Very good understanding of various financial asset classes and their risk return profiles.
  • Practical knowledge of MS Office product suites and
  • Solid understanding of VBA/Excel Macro
  • Solid understanding of financial databases, such as eVestment, Bloomberg, Style Analytics, Factset
