Shift Time- 8AM to 5 PM/12PM to 9PM IST

Required education and certifications critical for the role-

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data/Analytics or related field. Professional certifications a plus (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, CBAP, PMP, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent).

Required years of experience - 7+ years of experience

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

Business Data Analyst would be responsible for supporting the design, assessment and implementation of the firm's global Target Operating Model across business units and regions. The role will focus on conducting strategic business reviews, detailed activity analysis and working with large, complex data sets to identify opportunities to improve client service, operational efficiency, control and profitability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The colleague is responsible for:

  1. Large Data Sets & Analytics:
  • Extract, transform and analyze large, complex data sets from multiple sources (e.g. policy/placement systems, CRM, claims, finance, operational logs) to inform TOM decisions.
  • Build and maintain robust datasets to support recurring TOM analyses (e.g. volumes, cycle times, error/rework rates, productivity, utilization).
  • Clean, normalize and validate activity data, ensuring consistency of definitions and time allocation.
  • Design clear visualizations, dashboards and reports (e.g. in Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar) to represent the activity analysis data.
  • Support scenario modelling (e.g. centralization, automation or offshoring) to inform TOM design.

  1. Activity Analysis & Workforce Insights:
  • Support detailed activity analysis across target functions to understand how time and effort are currently spent (e.g. client-facing vs. administrative, value-adding vs. non-value-adding).
  • Coordinate data collection approaches (e.g. timelogging, surveys, interviews) with local teams.
  • Analyze activity data to identify drivers, patterns, constraints and opportunities for simplification.
  • Translate activity analysis into clear, actionable recommendations on process redesign, role clarity, offshoring/outsourcing, and workforce sizing or structure.
  1. Support Business Reviews
  • Assess the current performance of specific business units.
  • Document organization charts, key processes and activities, value maps, pain points and interactions.
  • Suggest findings, options and recommendations to improve the specific business unit.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED :

  • Experience as a Business Analyst (or similar) within insurance, financial services or a large, complex corporate environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to work with large data sets using tools such as Excel (advanced), SQL, and/or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
  • Proven ability to translate data and analysis into clear, compelling insights and recommendations.
  • Strong documentation skills (process or value maps, operating procedures, presentations).
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, comfortable working across cultures and at different levels of seniority.
  • Demonstrated experience in process analysis, activity analysis, or operating model design
  • Experience in insurance brokerage, underwriting, or claims operations, ideally in a global or regional context.
  • Familiarity with Target Operating Model frameworks, Lean/Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies.
