About The Team
The purpose of this team is to handle accounting within the Order-to-Cash operations and accounting.
Job Summary
This role serves as the functional accounting leader for India based teams primarily focused on Order-to-Cash operations and accounting. The role operates as an extension of US Retail Controller leadership team. While US leaders retain ultimate accountability for policy, design, and outcomes, this Director(s) is responsible for driving operational excellence, control discipline/execution, talent development, and continuous improvement within the India accounting function.
This is not a site administration role. It is a hands-on functional leadership position with responsibility for quality, controls, productivity, transformation, and bench strength across a large-scale organization.
Roles & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Functional Ownership (Shares with US Leadership)
- Accountable for accuracy, timeliness, KPI performance, and control execution across assigned functions.
- Engagement in accounting treatment/topics, process design, root cause analyses and resolution and system enhancement or initiative implementation.
- Provides decision input on policy and process changes; US leaders maintain final authority.
- Proactively identifies risks, control gaps, and operational inefficiencies and makes recommendations on mitigations, improvements and efficiencies.
- Operating Model
- Operates as a peer to US Directors.
- Engages in dialog, debate and constructive challenge on accounting and operational topics. Has and uses their seat at the table.
- Acts as both consultant and executor — influencing outcomes rather than passively receiving direction.
- Participates meaningfully in initiatives (systems, automation, process changes), driving adoption and operational readiness.
- Has global influence, provide inputs for strategic direction in partnership with senior leadership and design an operating model for executing deliverables

- Leads automation, simplification, and standardization efforts.
- Focused on root cause identification and elimination, not just surface-level fixes.
- Builds scalable processes that support long-term growth or the org and Lowe's.

- Leads and develops a large organization (200 team members).
- Builds functional bench strength and succession pipelines
- Elevates accounting capability across levels.
- Owns engagement, attrition management, and leadership development.

Years Of Experience
Overall 12+ years of experience in accounting with a strong understanding of best practices in the same field and preference to prior Order To Cash/Retail. .
5+ years of leadership experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams
5+ years of experience driving complex projects with competing priorities and deadlines
Education Qualification & Certifications
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree (Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field)

Leadership Experience
Experience in Accounts Payable Operations/ People Management and Stakeholder Management
Reporting and Metrics Driven
Retail OR Accounts Payable/Receivable Experience
Excellent communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong project management skills; ability to manage end-to-end project requirements.
