GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Develop client-specific knowledge to deliver on the valuation and other consulting support services Develop your understanding of the wider context big picture view of the technical calculations and key primary drivers of the results
Independently review the technical results from the base data, establish reasonableness, reliability of checks and ensure proper audit trails
Demonstrate a clear, logical approach to reviewing significant technical piece of work with proper documentation and root cause analysis of areas of concern
Demonstrate a very good understanding of all aligned processes and to be able to mentor and also to provide insights to clients/clients team
The process involves analysis of healthcare products data provided by vendors & onshore consultants pertaining to premium, claims, plan attributes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates as part of team under supervision of Actuarial - Operations Manager
. Lead and manage the scope, budget and the applicable timescales of the large consulting support projects
. Independently review the technical results from the base data, establish reasonableness, reliability of checks and
ensure proper audit trails
. Demonstrate a clear, logical approach to reviewing significant technical piece of work with proper documentation and
root cause analysis of areas of concern
. Demonstrate a very good understanding of all aligned processes and to be able to mentor and also to provide insights
to clients/clients team, detailed knowledge of the relevant actuarial professional and internal guidance
. Lead status update meetings and build strong relationships with various offshore and onshore colleagues
. Identify/implement improvements to the valuation and other consulting support services
. Proactively take steps to develop the junior colleagues and ensure business continuity on the assigned projects
. Manages valuations/other process/aligned projects independently and makes sure all deliverables are completed
. Helps less experienced colleagues prioritize valuations
. Project management responsibilities
. Internal technical training responsibilities
. Provides final client deliverables along with relevant options that include drafting the emails as well.
. Attends internal technical meetings and provide necessary guidance
. Takes the unresolved technical queries with the appropriate senior colleagues.
. Viewed as valued member of the team and comfortable answering broad questions
. Invests time at the beginning of the process to minimize role in day to day aspects of the valuation
. Strong client knowledge resource backing up AM/PM
. Tests results from client's perspective
. Identifies and secures appropriate resources
. Help to refine existing process models and processes and develop training materials
. Builds knowledge of valuations, interprets results and explains
. Resource for more complex valuations/projects issues
. Integral part of technical and new hire trainings.
. Certifies Knowledge Wizard

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
. Starts to understand and anticipate next steps are on small to mid-size valuations. Acts less as a team member and more as an owner of assigned valuations.
. Reviews work for accuracy and reasonability, interprets results from client's perspective, and begins to offer opinions to PM based on the results.
. Educates and trains junior colleagues to allow them to complete valuations independently. Reviews work and provides constructive, developmental feedback.
. Plays a role in internal initiatives like training, tool development, etc.
. Good understanding of technical topics and concepts to apply them to valuations.
. Handles many basic questions from the client when the PM is not available and likely to perform at a PM level.
. Good leave management by keeping business requirement in mind so that impact would be minimal on client work.
. Volunteer for any additional responsibilities or execute with full commitment for the assigned additional responsibilities.
. Motivate colleagues and leads by example. Drive the team participation in CSR initiatives, Fun Committee events, etc.
. Graduate, numerate degree preferred such as Mathematics / Statistics / Economics / Engineering
. Active student member of the Institute of Actuaries, UK / India and prefer to have cleared at-least three core technical actuarial exams
. Advance Knowledge of MS Excel
. Should be well versed with basic tool functionalities for creating, editing and formatting presentation
. Business communication skills (email and conference calls) and fluent with English language. Should be able to coherently and confidently communicate thoughts and ideas verbally, and in writing logical approach towards solving problems.
. Should be flexible, keen on taking initiatives, accountable and have a collaborative approach with fellow colleagues
