Responsibilities:
IDE Rules Engineering: Design, write, and test custom rules files (e.g., for Cursor, VS Code) that enforce security best practices in real-time as developers code.
Local Automation Scripts: Develop lightweight, executable skills or scripts (Python/Bash) for endpoint pre-push security reviews, enabling developers to self-assess code before committing.
Pipeline Security Integration: Create and document best practices for GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), optimizingCodeQL queries and Dependabot configurations for high-fidelity scanning.
Developer Experience (DX): Ensure all security tools are frictionless and high value for developers, minimizing noise and false positives.
Documentation: Write clear, actionable guides for engineering teams to adopt these new tools.
Required Knowledge & Skills
At least 3 years of experience in hands-on software development (Python, TypeScript, or Go preferred).
Developer Tooling Expertise: Deep familiarity with modern IDEs (VS Code, Cursor) and their configuration ecosystems (settings.json, extensions, rules files).
CI/CD & DevOps: Practical experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub Advanced Security features (CodeQL, Dependabot).
Security Mindset: Deep understanding of SAST (Static Application Security Testing) for code quality and SCA (Software Composition Analysis) for dependency management (e.g., Dependabot, OSV).
AI Coding Proficiency: Direct experience using and configuring AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and understanding their context windows and prompting mechanisms.
Scripting Master: Strong proficiency in writing portable scripts for local automation (Python, Shell).
Problem Solving: Ability to create creative, lightweight solutions that run efficiently on local machines.
Experience in AI tools: Proven ability to implement AI thinking in the team and drive efficiencies across development lifecycles.
