Job Description

The purpose of this position is to co-ordinate resources within the Tool room to ensure all tooling are produced efficiently, on time and in line with quality standards ensuring adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.

Tooling Manufacturing:

  • Manufacture of Tooling: Jigs, Fixtures, customized gauges, molding dies spares based on production team requirements to ensure timely fulfilment.
  • Handle in house process improvements, lessons learnt for future orders.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for outsourced parts incl. material movement and documentation.
  • Provide guidance to team to implement Kaizen, and lean manufacturing.
  • Manage shop floor for EHS compliance.
  • Key Result Areas / Indicators:On time delivery Fulfillment, Quality, Safety,Tooling cost andproductivity

ShopfloorManagement:

  • Allocate orders, manage manpower to optimize in-houseresource utilization.
  • Develop skillset for tool room through coaching and training to associates.
  • Implement system CIP and incorporate associates suggestions through employee involvement.
  • Key Result Areas / Indicators:Ensure 100% orders timely fulfilment.Associate participation, their skill development as per toolroom processes requirement.Safety compliance, adherence to 5S, eLPC, suggestion scheme

ResourcePlanning:

  • Ensure optimal utilization of Associates, Machines and manage assets.
  • Provide prompt support for tooling, fixture, molding dies includingtheir reconditioning, customized gauges and measurement stations.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities.
  • Key Result Areas / Indicators:Tracking toolroom output, Turnover and Productivity,Associate utilization, Performance.

Tool Room Quality Control:

  • Tooling Inspection, ensure documentation of reports, QualityStatistics, FMR reports and FPY while processing the orders.
  • Maintain documents for internal and external audits.
  • Key Result Areas / Indicators: Track customer complaints, PSS,define improvements, QMS - No NC.


Qualifications

B.Tech./B.E. Mechanical Engineering with relevant Experience in Tool Room/Tooling Manufacturing: 24 Years


Additional Information

Knowledge:

. Competent in tooling Manufacturing processes
. Advance Knowledge on Engineering Design & Drawing with material selection, GD&T, form, fit & function
. Advance Knowledge on Jigs, Fixtures,Toolings & Work holding devices
. Advance knowledge on Shop floor Management (SFMC), Ergonomics, Lean concepts
. Basics of IATF 16949, EHS

Functional skills:

. Proficient in MS Office, SAP, outlook
. Soft skills like delegation, negotiation, conflict management
. Communication & collaboration with stake holders
