Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Import Procurement Executive to manage the end-to-end procurement process for international sourcing. The role involves coordinating with global suppliers, managing import documentation, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and optimizing procurement costs while maintaining timely deliveries. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills and a good understanding of international trade and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard international suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective procurement.
2. Procurement & Order Management
- Raise and manage purchase orders for imported materials or components.
- Track order status and ensure timely execution of shipments.
- Plan procurement requirements based on production or operational demand.
3. Documentation & Compliance
- Handle and review import documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other trade documents.
- Ensure correct HS Code classification for imported goods.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import policies, and international trade laws.
4. Logistics Coordination
- Work closely with suppliers on Incoterms (FOB, CIF, EXW, etc.) and shipment arrangements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, logistics teams, and customs agents for smooth shipment movement and clearance.
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays or issues.
5. Cost & Market Analysis
- Conduct cost analysis including freight, duties, taxes, and landed cost calculations.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
- Track market trends, supplier pricing, and international sourcing opportunities.
6. Inventory & Reporting
- Monitor inventory levels for imported materials and ensure timely replenishment.
- Maintain procurement records and prepare periodic reports on procurement activities and supplier performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in import/export, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, shipping processes, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and procurement/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
