Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Import Operations Manager from the Freight Forwarding industry to lead and manage end-to-end import operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Air Import and Sea Import operations, customer service, shipment execution, and team management. The candidate must have hands-on experience working with freight forwarding companies and managing import shipments from booking to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complete Air Import and Sea Import operations

• Lead and supervise the Import Operations and Customer Service team

• Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, foreign agents, co-loaders, CHAs, transporters, and customers

• Monitor shipment movement and ensure timely updates to customers

• Handle operational escalations, shipment delays, and service-related issues

• Ensure accurate documentation, customs clearance coordination, and timely shipment execution

• Oversee ODEX processes, IGM filing coordination, HBL documentation, and shipment tracking activities

• Review DSRs, operational reports, and team performance regularly

• Ensure smooth coordination between operations, customer service, transport, and clearance teams

• Maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction levels

• Drive operational efficiency and process improvements

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding Import Operations and Customer Service

• Freight Forwarding industry experience is mandatory

• Hands-on experience in Air Import and Sea Import operations

• Prior team handling and leadership experience is mandatory

• Strong understanding of shipping documentation, customs clearance processes, ODEX, HBL, IGM, and shipment execution

• Experience coordinating with foreign agents, shipping lines, airlines, co-loaders, CHAs, transporters, and customers

• Ability to independently manage operational escalations and customer issues

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Must be located within a commutable distance of Gurugram, Haryana

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Freight Forwarding ERP, CargoWise, LogiSys, or similar logistics platforms

• Experience handling high-volume import shipments

• Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations and customer service processes

• Experience managing operational KPIs, DSRs, and service quality metrics

• Immediate joiners or candidates with up to 30 days notice period preferred
