The Position
Role Overview
The Implementation Business Analyst is a customer-facing member of the Implementation Team, responsible for turning customer business needs into clear, implementable requirements and coordinating those requirements through solution design, product alignment, testing, and go-live. The role is based in India and reports to the Implementation Lead in Singapore.
The role focuses on business analysis and implementation ownership rather than acting as the primary configuration specialist. It requires strong healthcare claims knowledge, structured documentation, confident customer facilitation, and the ability to connect business, clinical, product, engineering, integration, and QA teams to drive decisions and delivery.
Responsibilities
1) Business Requirements, Workshops & Solution Definition
- Lead and facilitate customer workshops to understand current-state claims, benefits, pre-authorisation and operational processes, and translate them into clear future-state requirements.
- Capture and maintain business requirements, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, decision logs, assumptions and sign-off records.
- Prepare or contribute to implementation artefacts such as functional specifications, requirements frameworks, mapping workbooks, implementation plans and customer-facing summaries.
- Challenge unclear or incomplete requirements, separate confirmed scope from open questions, and drive closure with the relevant business and product stakeholders.
2) Claims, Benefits and Business Rules Analysis
- Analyse claims-calculation scenarios, benefit-triggering logic, exclusions, limits, tariffs, professional fees, utilisation and pre-authorisation requirements.
- Work with customer subject-matter experts to document formulas, decision rules, exceptions and expected outcomes in a form that product, engineering and QA teams can implement and test.
- Assess whether requirements can be met through standard product capability, configuration, an operational workaround or a product enhancement, and clearly document the recommended path and dependencies.
- Partner with configuration specialists and clinical SMEs to ensure requirements are sufficiently clear for benefit, rule, tariff and clinical-set configuration.
3) Integration and Data Requirements
- Coordinate business and functional analysis for API and data integration, including REST/JSON and HL7/FHIR-based claim request and response structures.
- Clarify field definitions, ownership, source-system availability, validation rules and mapping assumptions with customer and internal integration teams.
- Prepare sample payloads, field lists and mapping documentation, and coordinate internal review before customer submission and sign-off.
- Track integration dependencies and product gaps, and support defect analysis and retesting with engineering and QA teams.
4) Delivery Tracking, Scope and Dependency Management
- Maintain implementation trackers covering deliverables, decisions, actions, dependencies, risks, blockers, target dates and sign-off status.
- Create and maintain Jira epics and stories for implementation items, ensuring that requirements, acceptance criteria, ownership and dependencies are clearly recorded.
- Monitor customer and internal dependencies, highlight missed inputs or decisions early, and provide concise status updates and escalation points to the Implementation Lead.
- Support implementation planning by sequencing activities, identifying prerequisites and coordinating work across product, engineering, QA, clinical, configuration and customer teams.
- Apply disciplined scope and change control by identifying new or changed requirements, assessing delivery impact and ensuring agreement before implementation.
5) Testing, Readiness and Go-Live Support
- Define business acceptance criteria and expected results for functional, SIT and UAT scenarios, with particular focus on end-to-end claims outcomes.
- Support QA and customer testers by clarifying requirements, reproducing functional issues, distinguishing defects from requirement gaps, and coordinating resolution and retesting.
- Validate that agreed requirements, configurations, integrations and operational dependencies are ready for release and customer sign-off.
- Support cutover, go-live and post-release triage by preparing readiness inputs, tracking open items and coordinating business validation.
6) Customer Enablement and Stakeholder Communication
- Act as a day-to-day functional point of contact for assigned implementation workstreams and communicate clearly with customer business and technology stakeholders.
- Prepare structured meeting agendas, minutes, decision summaries, action lists and follow-up communications that make ownership and next steps explicit.
- Deliver product and process enablement sessions covering claims concepts, benefit and rule configuration, clinical/reference data and implementation ways of working.
- Build effective working relationships across countries and time zones, while maintaining clear accountability between Amplify Health and customer teams.
7) Continuous Improvement and Reuse
- Capture lessons learned and convert implementation experience into reusable templates, frameworks, checklists, sample artefacts and delivery standards.
- Identify recurring product or process gaps and provide evidence-based recommendations to improve implementation efficiency, customer readiness and product usability.
- Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for new implementation team members and business analysts.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of business analysis or customer implementation experience, preferably within health insurance, healthcare technology, insurance platforms or another regulated industry.
- Practical experience leading requirements workshops and producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, mapping documents and implementation trackers.
- Strong understanding of health-insurance claims and benefit concepts, including claim adjudication, exclusions, limits, utilisation, tariffs, professional fees and pre-authorisation.
- Experience working across customer, product, engineering, integration, QA, clinical and operations teams to resolve requirements and delivery dependencies.
- Working knowledge of REST/JSON APIs and data mapping; familiarity with HL7/FHIR claim structures is an advantage.
- Experience with Jira and Agile delivery practices, including backlog management, defect triage and change control.
- Experience facilitating customer training, requirements playback and sign-off discussions.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to facilitate regional customer discussions and produce concise, decision-oriented documentation.
- High attention to detail, strong ownership, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently while reporting to a regional lead.
- Clinical coding knowledge, including ICD, CPT, diagnosis, procedure or pharmacy coding concepts, is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively from India with stakeholders and a reporting line based in Singapore; occasional regional travel may be required.
What You Will Gain in This Role
- Direct ownership of business-analysis deliverables across complex customer implementations, from discovery through go-live.
- Exposure to regional healthcare claims transformation, including benefits, rules, tariffs, clinical coding, APIs and FHIR-based integrations.
- Opportunity to shape reusable implementation methods and work closely with senior product, engineering, clinical, QA and customer stakeholders across Asia.
