Role Description The Immigration Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The role involves advising clients on Canadian immigration pathways, including work permits, LMIA processes, residency, citizenship, and family-based applications. The consultant will assess client eligibility, prepare and review application documents, complete immigration forms, and maintain accurate case files in line with regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include conducting consultations, explaining immigration procedures and timelines, coordinating with Canadian employers and authorities, and following up with clients throughout their application process. The role also includes staying current with Canadian immigration laws and policies, supporting complex cases such as appeals or tribunal matters, and contributing to a professional, client-focused service environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of core immigration issues, including residency, citizenship, family, and business immigration processes.
  • Experience with visas and related documentation, including work permits, LMIA-based applications, and skilled migration pathways.
  • Understanding of immigration and refugee law, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards in the Canadian context.
  • Consulting skills, including client assessment, case strategy development, and providing clear, accurate immigration advice.
  • Exposure to global immigration practices and cross-border case management is an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field; formal immigration consultant training or certification is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear, respectful manner.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and case management tools; prior experience in an immigration firm or legal office is an advantage.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, client confidentiality, and working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
