PROS seeks a Senior Shopify Developer to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of Shopify storefronts. This role requires extensive experience in Shopify, a deep understanding of eCommerce and web development, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver superior online experiences.
Working hours USA daytime EST.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain custom Shopify apps using Shopify Admin APIs Shopify Functions, and Checkout UI Extensions
- Customize Shopify themes using Liquid templating language and develop bespoke designs
- Optimize Shopify sites for performance, scalability, mobile responsiveness, and maintainability
- Integrate third-party apps, marketing tools, ERP systems, CRM platforms, and Platform APIs
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain core product software to ensure strong optimization and functionality
- Lead and mentor junior developers, providing guidance and technical expertise
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, UX/UI teams, and Directors of CRO to enhance customer journey and conversion rates
- Assist with A/B testing initiatives and leverage analytics (Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, Google Tag Manager) to inform data-driven design decisions
- Manage and execute updates, changes, and new feature rollouts using Shopify's theme development environment
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to Shopify
Qualifications & Skills
- 5–7+ years of web development experience with a proven track record of developing and maintaining Shopify websites
- Expert proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+, jQuery, frameworks), and responsive design
- Complete know-how of Shopify's Admin System, object/properties, AJAX API, and Meta fields
- Experience implementing/debugging third-party Shopify apps and building unique solutions
- Strong understanding of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics, Google Tag Manager)
- Familiarity with page-building applications like Replo, Shogun, or similar Shopify tools
- Working knowledge of third-party services, APIs, Docker, Varnish, Redis, ElasticSearch/Solr
- Experience with Shopify B2B, Shopify Markets, multi-country configuration, and checkout extensibility
- Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented debugging, and performance optimization
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional partnerships
- Good English (written and spoken); DEV-oriented certification is an advantage
