Key job responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities
ID-LB Cabling Infrastructure Tech at ADSIPL, expectation from role are:

. Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
o Extensive knowledge of cable infrastructure installation and testing
o Ability to direct team members in installation and relocation of network equipment and cabling on a large-scale basis
o Experience managing cable test management software, such as Fluke linkware, to maintain an accurate Cabling infrastructure database
o Experience with fault isolating and troubleshooting cabling within live networks including LAN and WAN
o Excellent written, spoken interpersonal communication and reporting skills
o Understanding of test equipment (power meter / light source, OTDR, VFL, network analyzer, copper / fiber cabling test equipment)
o Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment
o Supervise technicians and provide on-the-job training when required
o Provide regular feedback on the performance of technicians
o Must be able to direct a team effectively and efficiently
o Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations
o Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 18kg and move up to 23kg
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook to document track and manage projects.
o Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
o Thorough understanding of Cat 6 and OM3 - OS2 fiber optic cabling systems
o Proper use of all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
o Experience of troubleshooting fiber optic network cables (Using fiber tester, power meter, etc.)
o English & Local language fluency

Basic Qualifications

o Minimum 3 years of structured cabling experience
o Minimum 3 years working in Data center environment
o Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading group of technicians
o General comprehension of the various components and sub-components of data center infrastructure
o Ability to read and understand CAD drawings
o BICSI Certification preferred
o Basic networking knowledge
o Project coordination / management experience

Preferred Qualifications :

o 5+ years of structured cabling experience in a data center environment, with deep hands-on knowledge of Cat 6/6A copper and OM3/OS2 fiber optic systems.

o BICSI Installer 2 (Copper and/or Fiber) or BICSI Technician (BCTT) certification. RCDD designation is a plus.

o 3-5+ years leading and mentoring cabling technician teams, with a proven record of delivering large-scale cable installation and relocation projects on time.

o Proficiency with cabling test tools including OTDRs, Fluke LinkWare, power meters, VFLs, and network analyzers, with experience maintaining accurate cabling infrastructure databases.

o Demonstrated ability to fault-isolate and troubleshoot live LAN and WAN cabling issues with minimal network disruption.

o Experience reading and interpreting CAD drawings and as-built documentation.

o Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across cross-functional teams.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) for documentation, reporting, and project tracking.

o Diploma or degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

o Fluency in English and the local language, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of computer networking experience
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
