About The Opportunity

A critical care role in a fast-paced multi-specialty hospital environment focused on managing critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ICU Physician will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide timely clinical interventions, ensure patient stabilization, and support high standards of critical care delivery aligned with hospital protocols and NABH guidelines.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients admitted to the ICU.
  • Monitor and stabilize patients with acute medical, surgical, respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and septic conditions.
  • Perform comprehensive ICU rounds and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Coordinate with consultants, nursing teams, respiratory therapists, and emergency teams for optimal patient care.
  • Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor support, and invasive lines.
  • Handle emergency situations including cardiac arrest, shock, respiratory failure, and trauma stabilization.
  • Perform ICU procedures such as central venous catheterization, arterial line insertion, intubation, and bedside critical care interventions where applicable.
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation, patient records, and ICU notes.
  • Communicate effectively with patient families regarding clinical status and treatment plans.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and ICU best practices.
  • Participate in code blue responses and rapid response team activations.
  • Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and quality initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement in ICU protocols, mortality reviews, and clinical outcomes.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • MBBS with CTCCM / IDCCM qualification preferred.
  • MBBS candidates with strong core ICU experience may also apply.
  • Valid Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) / National Medical Commission (NMC) registration.
  • Experience in handling ventilators and critical care emergencies preferred.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary ICU settings is desirable.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights and emergencies.
