Job Description: Plant Head – Chennai (ICF Coach Production)

Company: Pennar Industries Limited

Location: Chennai

Role Type: Senior Leadership | Manufacturing & Railways

CTC Range: 25 – 30 Lakhs per annum

Role Overview

Pennar Industries Limited is seeking a seasoned Plant Head for its Chennai facility. This role will lead ICF coach production operations with a strong blend of technical expertise (60–70%) and managerial leadership (30–40%). Over time, the position is expected to evolve into leading the Railways Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Operations (60–70%)

  • Lead end-to-end ICF coach manufacturing and production planning.
  • Ensure compliance with ICF / RDSO standards, quality norms, and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to production and quality teams.
  • Act as a technical interface with clients for execution and engineering challenges.
  • Drive process improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost optimization.

Managerial & Leadership (30–40%)

  • Overall Plant Head responsibility including manpower planning and performance management.
  • Coordinate with finance and accounts teams for billing and payment follow-ups.
  • Support business development and new project acquisition.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership on budgeting and reviews.
  • Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.

Future Responsibility

Transition into leading the Railways Business Unit, overseeing strategy, execution, and growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Electrical / Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in ICF coach production or rolling stock.
  • Prior experience as Plant Head / Operations Head / Production Head.
