Key Responsibilities
Administer IBM MQ environments (queue managers, queues, channels, listeners,
security objects) across DEV/TEST/UAT/PROD.
Perform installation, configuration, patching, version upgrades, and migrations for
IBM MQ and associated components.
Handle incident, problem, and change activities: troubleshooting connectivity,
channel issues, performance bottlenecks, and message flow failures.
Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery setups (e.g., Multi-
Instance QM, RDQM, clustering, or platform-specific HA patterns).
Configure MQ security: TLS certificates, channel authentication (CHLAUTH),
OAM/AMQ authorization, and integration with enterprise security standards.
Monitor platform health and capacity; tune resources (logs, buffers, channels, max
handles) and recommend improvements.
Automate operational tasks using scripts and standard runbooks; ensure adherence to
SOPs and compliance requirements.
Work with application and integration teams on onboarding, standards (naming,
queue/channel patterns), and production readiness.
Support middleware observability: log analysis, alert tuning, dashboards, and
proactive issue detection.
Prepare and maintain documentation (architecture diagrams, build sheets,
configuration baselines) and provide knowledge transfer.
