Must Have:

• Experience supporting IBM i systems as system administrator.
• Hands-on Experience in AS400 work management, Security Management, Communications, PTF deployment and OS upgrades.
• Experience in high availability software ITERA, OMS/ODS and Quick-EDD. Hands-on Experience on ITERA will have a preference.
• Experience in managing backups, Save/Restore concepts, Native, BRMS.
• Experience in managing HMC & Protectier devices.
• Experience in managing DB2 on AS400, Understanding of PF/LF & their dependencies and performing operations. Knowledge of SQL will be add-on.
• Basic knowledge of iSeries programming languages CL & RPG. Ability to read/understand, debug and write basic CL & RPG programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Monitor system to identify the current activities, problems, message queues, performance resources etc. to ensure systems health is fine all the time.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve any abnormal behavior of system, performance bottlenecks etc. on immediate basis.
• Ability to understand the iSeries database and operations over it. Good knowledge of SQL400 will be add on.
• Willingness to understand and support hosted applications, its basic functionality & their implementation on iSeries. Willingness to co-ordinate with respective application team to understand the customized established processes.
• Good knowledge on administrative topics, work management, IPL, Journal management, PTF installation, Printer & Device management.
• Good knowledge of managing backup and restore through native commands and BRMS.
• Understanding of backend hardware, HMC management, connected tape libraries both physical & virtual.
• Ability to secure systems through managing system values, object/data authorities and auditing values.
• Good knowledge of user management, Willingness to understand & support application access provisioning process via customized application menus as part of application security.
• Good knowledge on Replication tools, ITERA, OMS/ODS and Quick-EDD.
• Ability to co-ordinate and work with vendor effectively to resolve any issue.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with good communication and co-ordination capability to work together with application teams to resolve any outstanding issue.
