We are seeking a skilled IBM InfoSphere DataStage Developer to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of ETL processes and hands-on experience in designing and implementing data integration solutions using IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by actively monitoring and investigating issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behavior, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous engagement with system performance and user feedback to maintain system reliability and support business continuity effectively.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes using IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
- Collaborating with data architects and business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into DataStage jobs.
- Performing data quality checks and ensuring data integrity throughout the ETL process.
- Optimizing DataStage jobs for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to DataStage jobs and data pipelines.
- Documenting ETL processes and maintaining technical specifications.
Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to perform independently and become an SME.- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of system issues and minimize downtime.- Document troubleshooting steps and solutions to build a knowledge base for future reference.- Assist in the implementation of system updates and patches to enhance performance and security.- Support junior team members by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on complex issues.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience in IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
- Proficiency in ETL concepts and data integration processes.
- Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and querying.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design principles.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripting).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM InfoSphere DataStage.- Strong understanding of data integration and ETL processes.- Experience in diagnosing and resolving software issues within enterprise environments.- Familiarity with system monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.- Ability to analyze logs and trace errors to identify root causes.- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
