We are seeking an experienced
IBM DataStage Developer with strong expertise in ETL development, data warehousing, and database technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data integration solutions using IBM DataStage while supporting enterprise data quality, governance, and data management initiatives. The candidate should possess strong SQL skills, experience with Oracle databases, Unix shell scripting, and enterprise scheduling tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL solutions using IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
- Build and maintain data integration pipelines for enterprise data warehousing and analytics platforms.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects across Oracle and other relational databases.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and production support.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, architects, and development teams to implement data management initiatives.
- Support data cataloging, lineage, and governance activities to improve data visibility and compliance.
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and recommend remediation strategies.
- Develop and implement data quality rules and validation frameworks.
- Support data governance teams in issue management and resolution activities.
- Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts to automate ETL processes and operational tasks.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain ETL job scheduling using tools such as Automic (UC4), Control-M, or AutoSys.
- Collaborate with global teams to establish and enhance data management frameworks covering cataloging, lineage, and data quality.
- Integrate enterprise systems and data platforms using APIs and data integration best practices.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot ETL failures, and implement performance tuning measures.
Required Technical SkillsMust Have
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in IBM InfoSphere DataStage development.
- Strong experience with ETL design, development, and implementation.
- Expertise in Data Warehousing concepts and Data Architecture.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or Teradata (Oracle preferred).
- Experience in Unix/Linux environments and Shell Scripting.
- Experience with enterprise scheduling tools such as Automic (UC4), Control-M, or AutoSys.
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and application support processes.
- Experience in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimizing ETL jobs.
Good to Have
- Experience with Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Security, and Data Operations initiatives.
- Exposure to Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).
- Experience in Data Cataloging, Data Profiling, and Data Lineage solutions.
- Knowledge of Jira for issue tracking and workflow management.
- Experience with IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog (IGC) and Information Analyzer Metadata Asset Manager (IMAM).
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
