Job Summary
The IBDP English with TOK Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in English and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) within the IB Diploma Programme. The role involves fostering critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and strong communication skills among students, while preparing them for IB assessments and academic success.
Key Responsibilities
IBDP English Responsibilities
- Teach IBDP English (Language & Literature / Literature) to Grades 11 and 12.
- Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB standards.
- Guide students in Internal Assessments (IA) and External Assessments.
- Support students in literary analysis, writing, and oral presentations.
- Maintain accurate academic records and assessment documentation.
TOK Responsibilities
- Teach Theory of Knowledge (TOK) as per IB curriculum guidelines.
- Guide students in preparing TOK Exhibition and TOK Essay.
- Encourage critical thinking and reflective discussions.
- Assess TOK presentations and written tasks.
- Support interdisciplinary learning across subjects.
General Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans, unit plans, and teaching resources.
- Participate in IB training, workshops, and curriculum development.
- Maintain student portfolios and academic progress reports.
- Collaborate with other IB faculty members.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's Degree in English or related field.
- IB Diploma Programme teaching experience preferred.
- TOK teaching certification/training preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years teaching experience in senior secondary grades.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Familiarity with IB assessment and documentation practices.
