Job Description – IB PYP Visual Arts Teacher
Location: Bangalore
Curriculum: International Baccalaureate – Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)
Joining: Academic Year 2026–27
We are looking for a passionate, creative, and experienced
IB PYP Visual Arts Teacher for a reputed international school in Bangalore. The ideal candidate should be committed to nurturing creativity, self-expression, and artistic confidence among primary students through engaging and inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the IB philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Visual Arts lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework
- Foster creativity, imagination, experimentation, and critical thinking in students
- Introduce students to a wide range of artistic techniques, materials, styles, and cultural art forms
- Integrate art with transdisciplinary themes and classroom inquiries
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages artistic exploration
- Assess and document student progress through portfolios, exhibitions, and ongoing feedback
- Prepare students for school displays, art showcases, exhibitions, and collaborative projects
- Maintain the art studio/classroom, ensuring proper use and care of materials and equipment
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers and coordinators for interdisciplinary learning
- Participate actively in school events, meetings, professional development sessions, and parent interactions
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Visual Arts Teacher, preferably in international curriculum schools
- Degree in Fine Arts or a related field
- Strong understanding of child-centered and inquiry-based learning approaches
- Exposure to or experience with the IB PYP curriculum will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for working with primary school students
- Willingness to relocate to Bangalore

- Ability to integrate multiple art forms and creative technologies into teaching
- Experience conducting exhibitions, student showcases, and collaborative art projects
- Strong organizational and presentation skills
- Creative mindset with the ability to inspire young learners
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000 per month
