The IB-PYP Hindi Teacher will deliver age-appropriate Hindi language instruction aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), fostering language development, cultural appreciation, and communication skills through inquiry-based, child-centred learning. The role supports transdisciplinary learning while nurturing students linguistic confidence and cultural identity.
Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning (PYP-Aligned)
- Plan and deliver inquiry-based Hindi lessons aligned with the PYP philosophy.
- Develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills appropriate to primary learners.
- Integrate Hindi language learning into Units of Inquiry where relevant.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and language proficiency levels.
- Curriculum & Language Development
- Design engaging activities to build vocabulary, phonics, comprehension, and expression.
- Promote appreciation of Hindi culture, literature, and traditions.
- Encourage meaningful communication through stories, poems, songs, role-play, and creative tasks.
- Assessment & Documentation
- Use formative assessment strategies aligned with PYP assessment practices.
- Document learning evidence through anecdotal records, portfolios, and student displays.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to support student growth and language development.
- Collaboration & School Engagement
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers, the PYP Coordinator, and specialist teachers to support transdisciplinary learning.
- Participate in planning meetings, school events, assemblies, and PYP exhibitions.
- Support classroom and school initiatives related to language learning and cultural celebration.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hindi
- Masters degree in Hindi is desired
- B.Ed / D.Ed preferred
- IB-PYP training or exposure is an added advantage
Eligibility & Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of total teaching experience Compulsory
- Minimum 2 years of Primary classes Hindi teaching experience Preferred
