Job Title: IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator
Location: Chennai, India
Position Overview
The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator is responsible for the successful implementation, management, and continuous development of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) across Grades 6–10. The Coordinator will provide academic leadership, ensure compliance with IB standards and practices, support faculty development, and foster a culture of inquiry, international-mindedness, and student-centered learning.
The role requires close collaboration with school leadership, teachers, students, parents, and the IBO to ensure the highest quality of programme delivery and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the IB Middle Years Programme.
- Ensure alignment of the MYP with the school's vision, mission, and educational philosophy.
- Ensure effective implementation of the MYP framework, including Approaches to Learning (ATL), Concepts, Global Contexts, and Service as Action.
- Support teachers in curriculum planning, unit design, and assessment practices.
- Monitor curriculum articulation and progression across grade levels and subject groups.
- Encourage reflective teaching practices and continuous professional growth.
- Support new faculty members in understanding MYP expectations and requirements.
- Address parent queries related to curriculum and programme implementation.
- Contribute to whole-school academic planning and improvement initiatives.
- Promote innovation, educational technology integration, and best practices in teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's Degree in Education or a relevant academic discipline.
- B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum 10–15 years of teaching experience within an IB or international curriculum environment.
- Minimum 3- 5 years of leadership experience as MYP Coordinator, Head of Department, or similar academic leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the IB MYP framework, philosophy, and assessment practices.
