Essential Duties & responsibilities:
I&C Designers have duties and responsibilities that focus on safety, sustainable design, and quality assurance. They design, develop control systems documents. I&C Designers provide support for I&C work in the manufacturing, and construction industries. Their duties and responsibilities include:
- Assures that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
- Develop panel layout, control schematics, Loops, and wiring drawing
- Develops & provides Process and Instrumentations Drawings with the assistance of I&C, Process & Mechanical Engineering.
- Conduct design calculations such as power supply sizing and cable sizing
- Develop typical I&C Installation Details
- Develops and provides drawings for own designs and produces sketches to incorporate in drawings.
- Writes scope of work for I&C design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.
- Inspecting I&C components before, during, and after the I&C systems installation.
- Maintains company drawings, templates, and standards current with applicable local codes.
- Trains and mentors I&C Designer I and II on multiple design approaches and methods.
- Acts as a liaisonbetween I&C department and other departments and disciplines including Process / HVAC / Piping / EHS / Automation / C&Q / Procurement.
- Interacts with and presents to contractors and clients.
- Represents department and provides updates on I&C work in company/project meetings.
