Position Summary

Essential Responsibilities
- Work directly with the PDL/Lead Designer and assist him/her by contributing ideas and converting sketches into complete, workable assemblies.
- Prepare, edit, and correct drawings using CAD software, such as AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Analyze the requirements of the assignment and plan layouts and drawings for efficient arrangement of equipment.
- Ensure designs meet Company standards and quality.
- Keep appraised of standard updates, ISO procedures, design practices, CAD development program updates, and computer software advancement
- Archive project information in the appropriate Company database (DCAP, Notebooks, etc.).

Mandatory Qualifications
- Ensure the design plan adheres to the project schedule requirements.
- Ensure that contract designs adhere to pre-established standards and bring any deviations to the attention of the Functional Engineering Manager and Engineer for approval.
- Meet periodically with the Functional Engineering Manager and other PDL's to discuss team successes and failures, new design concepts, productivity enhancements, need for additional tools, etc. to provide uniformity between teams and allow growth from the experiences of other teams
- Ensure project work conforms to ISO/Quality requirements
- Keep Functional Engineering Manager updated on resource needs through long-range plans
- Ensure that weekly time sheet man-hour charges are valid
- Ensure that issuance of drawings flow through the Engineering Document Control group in accordance with defined procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience. Technical Drafting or on the job training
- 3-5 years of boiler/environmental or equivalent experience AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical Plant 3D, PDF or some combination
- Experience with electrical design and preferrable industry experience having knowledge of boiler and/or environmental equipment control.
- Must be organized and able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly to requests
