Role Description This full-time, on-site Hydraulic Engineer role is based in Vishakhapatnam and supports LMPL's mining and material handling operations. The Hydraulic Engineer will design, analyze, and maintain hydraulic systems used in mining equipment, material transport, and water management infrastructure. Daily responsibilities include performing hydraulic calculations, preparing technical drawings and specifications, overseeing installation and commissioning of hydraulic components, and troubleshooting system performance issues in the field. The role involves close collaboration with mechanical, operations, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency. The engineer will also support water resource planning, ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards, and provide technical documentation and reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Hydraulic Systems, including design, modeling, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in Water Engineering and Water Resource Management for industrial and mining applications.
• Understanding of Hydrology and related field investigations for water flow, storage, and drainage solutions.
• Foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles relevant to heavy machinery, pumps, valves, and fluid power.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience working in mining, heavy industry, or large infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with engineering design and analysis software (e.g., hydraulic modeling tools, CAD).
• Knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to hydraulic and water systems.
• Ability to work on-site in industrial environments, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills.
