Overview
We are seeking askilledHybridCloudInfrastructureEngineerwithexpertiseinCloudHostingandInfrastructure as Code(IaC)todesign,secureandautomateourcloud platformsas well assupportingourdeveloper community.The role is critical inreducingtime to deploywhile providing secure boundaries and guardrails forAtkinsRealisdevelopersin Azure andothercloud deployments
Therole involves workingwith serviceowners to deploysolutionsin aglobalHub and SpokeAzure environmentdeployed underMicrosoft'sCloud Architecture FrameworkusingEnterprise ScaleArchitecturewhich has beendeployed viaInfrastructure as Code.
Your role
- HybridCloud
- Understand of Azure IaaS, including but not limited to.
- Understanding ofhosting virtual machineson theAzureplatform, includingdeployment,connectivity,patching,monitoringand images.
- Understanding of networking on the Azure platformincludingPrivate Endpoints,Azure Firewall,Network SecurityGroupsandconnectivity viaS2SVPNs and ExpressRoute.
- Understanding ofStorage serviceon the Azure platform includingBlob, File,RecoveryVaults and Site recovery.
- Experience of IaaS in another globalHyperscaler(AWS, OCI, GCP)in addition to Microsoft Azure.
- Define andmaintainreference architecturesforCloud and Hybrid environments,platformstandardsand user guides.
- Improve observability,detectionand alertingusingbuilt in services to the cloud platform.
- Enforce governance using Policy, management groups, RBAC, and tagging standards.
- Experience of on-premises infrastructure technologies, servers,storageand networking.
- Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives (on premises toCloud, hybrid models).
- Infrastructure as Code/DevSecOps
- Understanding ofInfrastructure as Code, whyit'sused andcommon deploymenttechniques.
- UsingAzure DevOpsto deploy and updateCloudservicesvia Infrastructure as Code.
- Create new Azure DevOps pipelines and troubleshoot when pipelines fail.
- Mentor and upskill team membersinthe use of Azure DevOpsand Infrastructureas Code.
- Promote automation first, least privilege, and zero trust principles across cloud operations.
- Work closely with security team and application teams to remediate support incidents.
- Provide guidance on best practicesincluding optimizingenvironments for cost, performance, reliability, and security posture.
- Continuously improve processes, automation,deliveryand reporting capabilities.
- Contribute to platform roadmaps, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor and mentor to infrastructure and application teams.
- Ensure environments meet internal security standards and regulatory obligations.
About you
- 5+ years of experience inAzureinfrastructure, with at least 2 yearsinvolved with Infrastructure as code.
- Demonstrated experience withCloud Architecture Framework/Azure Enterprise Scale/Landing zones.
- 2+ years of Azure DevOps experience, working withversioning, codecontrolanddeploymentpipelines.
- Proficiencywith PowerShellAzure Cmdletsand/or Azure CLI.
- Experience of on-premises technologies, virtual machines, storage solutions
- Experience of MicrosoftServerOperatingSystems(2019+)
- Experience of other GlobalHyperScalersin addition toMicrosoftAzure
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Microsoft Azurecertifications:Azure Fundamentals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with ITIL, security frameworks, or enterprise service delivery models.
- Microsoft Azure Bicep/AWS CloudFormationdeployments
- CloudbasedVirtualWANknowledgebeneficial
- CloudApplication Gateway and Web Application Firewall including OWASP rules
- Experience ofPaaSsolutionsin addition to IaaS
- Experience of working in a Macro/Micro segmentation environment
- Relevant certifications or suitable demonstrable experience is highly desirable.
- Experience ofLinuxoperating systems(Redhat, Oracle)
- Experience ofHigh-PerformanceComputing
- Cloudbased qualificationssuch asAzure Solutions Architect Expert
- Experience of Azure Power Platform and integration with Azure Hosting
- Experienceto container platforms
