HVAC Draftsman

The HVAC Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed HVAC shop drawings, coordinated layouts, and as-built drawings for commercial and industrial projects. The role requires strong drafting expertise, knowledge of HVAC systems, and close coordination with design engineers, BIM teams, and site execution teams to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and execution - ready.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

HVAC Drafting & Drawing Preparation:

Prepare detailed HVAC shop drawings based on approved design drawings and specifications

Develop ducting layouts, chilled water piping layouts, equipment room layouts, and coordination drawings

Prepare HVAC schematics, isometric drawings, riser diagrams, and sectional details

Modify and update drawings based on design revisions and site requirements

Prepare as-built drawings based on site measurements and execution changes

Ensure all drawings comply with project standards, codes, and consultant requirements

Software & Tools (Mandatory / Preferred):

Software & Tools Proficiency Mandatory:

AutoCAD HVAC layouts, ducting & piping drawings, shop drawings

MS Excel quantity take-offs, schedules, and basic documentation Preferred / Added Advantage:

Revit MEP HVAC modelling, system layouts, clash coordination

Navisworks / BIM coordination tools clash detection support

Bluebeam drawing review (added advantage)

PROMASH or similar ERP/project tracking tools documentation & coordination

Documentation & Coordination:

Coordinate HVAC drawings with Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, BMS, and Civil teams

Support design engineers in preparation of BOQs and material take-offs from drawings

Assist in preparation of tender drawings and technical submissions

Review design inputs and incorporate consultant/client comments

Provide drawing support during execution for site queries and revisions

Maintain drawing revision control and documentation discipline

Project Support & Execution Interface:

Work closely with site engineers to ensure drawings match actual installation conditions

Support resolution of site-level coordination and drawing-related issues

Ensure timely submission of drawings as per project schedule

Assist in coordination meetings when required

Qualifications:

Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting (Preferred)

Degree holders with drafting experience may also apply

Industry Experience (Preferred):

Commercial buildings

Industrial plants & manufacturing facilities

Hospitals, malls, IT parks, data centres

Large MEP / EPC / HVAC execution projects

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of HVAC ducting and piping systems

Ability to read and interpret HVAC design drawings and schematics

Good coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams

Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy

Ability to manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously

Clear communication skills
