Job Description: HVAC Design Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a technically strong HVAC Design Engineer with hands‑on experience in heat load estimation, system design, AutoCAD drafting, and BOQ‑based quotation preparation.
The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of Tonnage calculations, airflow calculations, psychrometric processes, and HVAC system components, especially those related to Air Washers, AHUs, Ductable Air Coolers, and Two‑Stage Cooling Systems.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC System Design & Engineering
- Perform heat load calculations for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects.
- Determine Tonnage, CFM, air flow distribution, and duct sizing based on project requirements.
- Use psychrometric charts to evaluate system performance, and select appropriate equipment.
- Prepare system layouts, ducting drawings, and equipment placement plans.
BOQ, Costing & Quotation Preparation
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for HVAC systems based on design and client requirements.
- Develop cost estimates and quotations using BOQ shared by the sales or project team.
- Assist in preparing technical submittal and design clarifications.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with project & sales teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
- Interact with clients, consultants, and contractors to understand requirements and resolve design‑related queries.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background
- Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Heat load estimation
- Tonnage & CFM calculations
- Psychrometric charts
- HVAC system components and design principles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Familiarity with industrial ventilation and evaporative cooling systems (preferred).
Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in HVAC design engineering (freshers with strong fundamentals may also be considered).
