Role Overview
CareerMaker is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources & Recruiting Specialist to support our end-to-end recruitment and talent placement operations. This role is central to managing candidate pipelines, coordinating hiring activities, and supporting client-facing employability services such as resume development and LinkedIn optimization.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates clearly, and is comfortable juggling internal recruitment tasks alongside candidate-facing and client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Job Posting & Sourcing
- Post job openings on platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and other relevant job boards
- Customize job postings based on role requirements and target candidate profiles
- Monitor applications and ensure timely responses to candidates
2. Candidate Screening & Vetting
- Review resumes and applications for role suitability
- Conduct initial screening to assess skills, experience, and role alignment
- Shortlist qualified candidates based on predefined hiring criteria
3. Interview Coordination & Shortlisting
- Create and maintain a structured list of shortlisted candidates for HR and leadership interviews
- Schedule interviews and manage communication between candidates and interviewers
- Track candidate progress across recruitment stages
4. Candidate Communication & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Maintain consistent and professional correspondence via email, LinkedIn, and phone
- Ensure a positive and respectful candidate experience
5. Recruiting & Employability Support (When Not Hiring)
- Assist with resume creation and resume enhancement for CareerMaker clients
- Support LinkedIn profile creation and optimization for job-seeking clients
- Participate in calls with clients seeking job placement support through CareerMaker
- Coordinate with career coaches and trainers to support placement outcomes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
- 13 years of experience in recruitment, HR operations, or talent acquisition
- Strong resume screening and candidate evaluation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with LinkedIn recruiting, job boards, and ATS workflows
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple candidates and tasks simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in EdTech, staffing, recruitment agencies, or career services
- Exposure to resume writing, ATS optimization, or LinkedIn branding
- Comfort interacting with students, early-career professionals, and mid-level candidates
- Interest in employability, career development, and future-of-work trends
