Job Description: Head of HR & Operations ComplianceRole Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber, trilingual Head of HR & Operations Compliance to build, train, and lead an administrative and operational support team. This unique role sits at the intersection of human resource management, factory efficiency, and corporate affairs.
You will not only manage a multi-collar workforce but will also oversee team members dedicated to monitoring production efficiency, tracking preventive machine maintenance, and aggressively driving state and central government compliance, licensing, and subsidy applications.
Key Responsibilities1. Team Building & Leadership
- Structure the Department: Hire, train, and manage a lean, high-performing team divided into specialized tracks: Workforce Training/KPIs, Technical/Maintenance Tracking, and Government Relations/Liaison.
- Delegation & Accountability: Set clear performance metrics for your team to ensure zero delays in paperwork, vendor follow-ups, or compliance cycles.
2. Workforce Training & Production Efficiency Tracking
- Labor Training Programs: Design and implement structured training modules for skilled and unskilled labor to ensure safety, quality control, and minimized wastage.
- Efficiency Analytics: Oversee the tracking of daily, weekly, and monthly Labour Efficiency (OLE) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Team Dynamics: Monitor team-wise output across shifts and implement incentive or corrective frameworks to optimize production baselines.
3. Asset Management, Maintenance & Vendor Relations
- Upkeep Tracking: Implement and oversee a rigorous preventive maintenance schedule for all plant machinery to minimize downtime.
- Vendor Follow-ups: Act as the primary escalation point for equipment vendors, engineering contractors, and service providers, ensuring AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) guidelines are strictly met.
4. Compliance Cycles, Government Liaison & Subsidies
- End-to-End Compliance: Map out and own all compliance calendars (Pollution Control Board, Factories Act, Labor Welfare, Industrial Safety, etc.).
- On-the-Field Bureaucracy: Personally lead or direct team members to visit regional government offices, clear bureaucratic bottlenecks, and secure necessary approvals.
- Subsidy & Grant Management: Research, prepare flawless applications for, and follow up on central and state-level industrial/agricultural/export subsidies and incentive schemes.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Language Proficiency (Mandatory)- Tamil: Native or bilingual fluency (critical for local factory operations, ground labor coordination, and regional state government offices).
- Hindi: Fluent (essential for out-of-state workforce management and interactions with national technical vendors).
- English: Professional business proficiency (essential for high-level legal documentation, central subsidy applications, and executive reporting).
Experience & Core Competencies- Experience: 8 to 12+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally combining Plant HR, Industrial Relations (IR), and Factory Administration.
- Government Liaising Track Record: Documented success in dealing with Indian government departments, securing industrial licenses, and successfully reclaiming subsidies.
- Systems-Driven: Experience using or implementing production tracking, asset management, or ERP software (e.g., automated maintenance logs, HRMS).
