Position Title: Human Resource Generalist

Experience: 1520 years

Qualification: MSW / MBA Human Resources

Location: Corporate Office, Chennai

Employment: Full-time

Reports To: Group Vice President - HR

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Human Resource Generalist with 1520 years of progressive HR experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing end-to-end HR processes that support organizational growth, employee engagement, and long-term sustainability. This role requires strong business partnering skills and the ability to work with senior leadership to drive people strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

L&D Strategy & Planning (Mandatory)

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Conduct annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA) across functions and levels.
  • Create L&D frameworks, competency models, and career development pathways.

Learning Program Design & Delivery

  • Design high-impact learning programs, workshops, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Implement blended learning solutions (classroom, e-learning, simulations, micro-learning).
  • Partner with external consultants, trainers, and content creators.

Leadership Development & Talent Management

  • Drive leadership development journeys for emerging, mid-level, and senior leaders.
  • Implement succession planning initiatives and talent acceleration programs.
  • Collaborate with HRBP teams to identify high-potential employees (HiPo).

Learning Governance & Process Excellence

  • Standardize L&D processes, documentation, and training dashboards.
  • Implement and manage LMS platforms for digital learning.
  • Track learning effectiveness using Kirkpatrick's Evaluation Model or similar frameworks.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR policies, conflict management, and grievance handling.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, retention programs, and organizational culture-building efforts.
  • Ensure a positive work environment that supports employee satisfaction and productivity.

Performance Management

  • Manage the annual and mid-year performance review cycles.
  • Coach managers on goal setting, competency frameworks, and performance discussions.
  • Identify high performers and support career development and succession planning.

Learning & Development

  • Conduct training needs analysis and develop annual L&D plans.
  • Oversee onboarding, leadership development, and capability-building programs.
  • Collaborate with external training partners to deliver specialized programs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Support salary benchmarking, compensation planning, and benefits administration.
  • Work with finance and leadership for annual appraisal and increment cycles.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR policies, HRMIS, employee records, and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws and company standards.
  • Streamline HR processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Strategic HR & Business Partnering

  • Align HR initiatives with business objectives, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead organizational development interventions such as restructuring, change management, and culture transformation.
  • Support organizational growth through data-driven HR analytics.

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and HR operations.
  • Hands-on experience with HRMIS/HRMS tools.
  • Expertise in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Behavioral Competencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management abilities.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • MSW or MBA (HR) from a recognized institution.
  • 1520 years of diverse HR experience across HR operations, business partnering, and strategic HR.
  • Strong experience in managing HR functions in mid to large-sized organizations.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead HR initiatives independently.
  • Experience in manufacturing, IT/ITES, services, or multi-location environments will be an added advantage.
