Job Description

We're looking for someone who understands that at an early stage company, hiring is everything. Someone who builds talent pipelines before we need them, closes great candidates before they go elsewhere, and builds people systems that scale with the company.

What You'll Own

  • Own end-to-end recruitment across all roles, from sourcing and screening to offer and onboarding, with full accountability for speed and quality of every hire.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines proactively, not just when a role opens but always, so VE never starts a search from zero.
  • Design and deliver a seamless onboarding experience that makes every new joiner productive and excited from day one.
  • Own the full employee lifecycle, joining to exit, with clean documentation, accurate records, and zero loose ends.
  • Manage payroll inputs, statutory compliance, PF, ESIC, PT, and labor law requirements accurately and on time.
  • Build and maintain HR dashboards that give leadership real visibility into headcount, attrition, hiring pipeline, and people health.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to automate and improve every HR process using AI tools so manual work is the exception not the rule.
  • Act as a trusted people partner to founders, managers, and employees, someone who spots culture issues before they become problems.

Who You Are

  • You have 2-4 years of experience in HR, talent acquisition, or people operations in a fast-moving startup or high-growth environment.
  • You are a recruiter first. You understand that at VE's stage, finding and closing great talent is the most important thing you can do.
  • You are AI-native. You use AI tools to automate offer letters, screen candidates, build job descriptions, and streamline documentation because doing it manually is unacceptable to you.
  • You are fast. You can move a candidate from first conversation to offer in five days when the fit is right.
  • You are data-driven. You track time to hire, offer acceptance rate, attrition, and pipeline health because gut feel alone is not enough.
  • You have strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, statutory compliance, and payroll processes and you handle them without needing hand-holding.
  • You are a culture owner. You care deeply about how people feel at work and you take action when something is off.
