Position: HR and Talent Acquisition Specialist
Location: Mumbai (BKC)
The Role
We are hiring one HR Executive. This is a standalone hire and there are no further additions to the HR team planned for the foreseeable future. You will be the execution layer of the function, working directly with our HR Head.
70% of your time will be spent on HR operations, employee engagement, compliance, and culture. The remaining 30% will be talent acquisition. Across all of it, you will be expected to actively embed AI tools into your workflow - not as a novelty, but as a core part of how you get things done. If you want a role where you own things end-to-end and are not waiting for a committee to move, this is it.
What You Will Do
HR Operations and Generalist (70%)
- HR documentation, including offer letters, contracts, policies, and personnel records
- Employee engagement covering onboarding experience and culture touchpoints
- Payroll coordination with our finance team
- Work on culture-related activities
- Policy and compliance: maintaining and updating HR policies and ensuring that statutory compliance basics are in order
- Use AI tools to create dashboards, track HR metrics (attrition, engagement, headcount), and generate reports for leadership
- Identify repetitive HR tasks and proactively build AI-powered workflows or automations to reduce manual effort
- Stay current on HR tech: evaluate and recommend new tools that can sharpen operations at a lean team scale
Talent Acquisition (30%)
- Own the full hiring cycle from JD to sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, offer, and onboarding through LinkedIn Recruiter and Naukri, not just post-and-pray
- Build and maintain a pipeline for the roles we hire most: CAs, CS, lawyers, finance professionals, and general business roles
- Manage candidate experience from first touch to joining
- Use AI tools to screen resumes, draft outreach messages, and track funnel metrics
What We Are Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of HR experience with a clear operations track record and some TA exposure
- Prior experience in B2B professional services, consulting, legal, CA firm, or advisory strongly preferred — you should already understand what a CA or Company Secretary does
- Non-negotiable: AI-native and tech-savvy. You actively use AI tools in your day-to-day work (ChatGPT, Claude, Notion AI, or similar) and are genuinely curious about how to do more with them. You should be able to demonstrate this — not just claim it.
- Familiarity with or willingness to rapidly adopt HR tech: HRMS platforms, ATS tools, automation platforms (Zapier, Make), and AI-assisted writing tools
- LinkedIn Recruiter proficiency is non-negotiable
- Sharp written communication — our clients and candidates are professionals and your outreach, documentation, and internal comms should reflect that
- Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a lean, fast-moving setup where you will often be figuring things out rather than following a playbook
- Mumbai-based; comfortable with full-time on-site work at BKC
Our AI Expectations — Specifically
Since AI proficiency is a core requirement and not just a bonus, here is what we mean concretely:
- You use AI to draft, not to prompt once and paste blindly — you iterate, edit, and own the output
- You use AI tools to research roles, benchmark compensation, and summarise candidate profiles
- You have used (or are actively learning to use) tools like Notion AI, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar in an HR or ops context
- You think about your workflows in terms of what can be automated or accelerated — and you act on it
Why This Role
- Direct exposure to a sharp, fast-growing advisory firm serving founders across the country
- High ownership from day one — no layers, no bureaucracy
- A team that genuinely values people who use technology to work smarter
- Opportunity to define how HR is done at Treelife as we scale
