Role Overview

An HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic link between HR and business units, aligning people strategies with organizational goals. HRBPs consult with leaders, influence decisions, and contribute to business outcomes through effective HR practices. They combine business insight with strong HR expertise to drive change, performance, and workforce capability.

Core Responsibilities

1. Strategic HR Partnership

Align HR strategies with business goals and priorities.

Act as a trusted advisor and consultant to senior leaders on people-related issues.

Provide insights to support business planning and workforce decisions.

2. Talent Management & Workforce Planning

Forecast talent needs and identify capability gaps.

Support recruitment planning, talent acquisition, and onboarding processes.

Drive retention, succession planning, and leadership development efforts.

3. Performance Management

Advise managers on performance cycles, goal setting, evaluations, and development plans.

Promote effective performance conversations and feedback practices.

4. Employee Relations

Handle complex employee relations issues and coach managers on best practices.

Promote positive work environments and support employee engagement.

5. Change Management

Lead or support organizational changes (restructuring, culture shifts, new initiatives).

Guide communication and transition planning to minimize disruption.

6. Data & Analytics

Use HR metrics and workforce data to inform recommendations and decisions.

Monitor trends in performance, turnover, engagement, etc.

7. Organizational Development

Support learning, D&I initiatives, and broader organizational effectiveness efforts.

Partner with HR centers of excellence (e.g., Compensation, Learning) to execute programs.

8. Compliance & HR Policy

Ensure HR practices comply with labor laws and organizational policy.

Educate leaders on HR policy, legal requirements, and ethical standards.

Duties

Collaborate with managers to understand talent needs and business challenges.

Guide leaders on HR policies and best practices.

Oversee aspects of performance management and talent reviews.

Partner with Compensation, Payroll, Legal, and other HR teams to deliver integrated people solutions.

Participate in strategic planning sessions to ensure people considerations are embedded.
