This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

The work model for the role is: LI # Onsite

This role is contributing to the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) in India. Main stakeholders are

Site Management, Project management, regulatory authorities, contractors and subcontractors, and corporate HSE leaderships.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Reporting HSE incidents to the management and relevant stakeholders and taking appropriate actions.

  • Facilitating, assisting, and providing guidance on incident investigations to learn better ways for mitigating risks.

  • Providing feedback to the management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB.

  • Supporting and driving behavioural change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices.

Qualifications for the role:

  • 10-15 years of progressive HSE experience with strong site-based exposure and proven ability to independently manage end-to-end HSE functions.

  • Experience in process industries (e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, chemicals, power, or heavy engineering) with solid knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance.

  • B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering NEBOSH certification - Preferred, Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage workforce, contractors, and leadership teams effectively.
