Industry : MEP Contracting (Construction)

Reports To : HSE Manager/Project Manager

Job Summary

The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance across all MEP project sites. This includes developing and enforcing policies to promote a safe work environment, conducting risk assessments, training staff, and ensuring adherence to legal and organizational HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor company HSE policies, procedures, and standards at site level.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Risk Assessments for MEP activities.
  • Ensure that electrical work activities are carried out safely.
  • Monitor and ensure correct use of PPE by site workers and subcontractors.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; report findings and suggest corrective actions.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for staff and labor.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and first aid arrangements.
  • Maintain all HSE documentation including daily safety reports, inspection logs, and permits.
  • Liaise with government authorities for HSE compliance.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting HSE reports to clients, consultants, and internal management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HSE Officer in MEP or construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of local HSE regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems and their associated safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced construction environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HSE-related certifications.
  • First Aid and Fire Fighting certification.
  • Experience working on high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or industrial MEP projects.
