Job Description

HRO Specialist – HRO (Unemployment Claims & WOTC)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage Unemployment Claims and Work

Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) processes. The role focuses on ensuring compliance,

reducing claim costs, maximizing tax credit opportunities, and delivering high-quality

support within an HRO environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Unemployment Claims Management

• Review and analyze unemployment claims for accuracy and eligibility

• Prepare and submit timely responses to state agencies

• Coordinate documentation and support hearings and appeals

• Investigate and challenge inaccurate or fraudulent claims

• Track claim status and ensure timely resolution

• Monitor impact on employer tax rates and identify cost-saving opportunities

WOTC Processing

• Conduct candidate eligibility screening for WOTC during hiring

• Ensure accurate completion of IRS Form 8850 and related documentation

• Submit applications to state workforce agencies within defined timelines

• Track certification status and follow up on pending applications

• Maintain audit-ready documentation and compliance records

• Drive initiatives to maximize WOTC credit capture

Reporting & Compliance

• Generate regular reports on claims, WOTC credits, and savings

• Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations

• Maintain complete documentation for audits and compliance reviews

• Identify and implement process improvements

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with HR, recruitment, payroll, and operations teams

• Provide timely updates and insights to leadership

• Address client queries and ensure high service quality

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong understanding of compliance and documentation requirements

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Proficiency in MS Excel (tracking, reporting, analysis)

• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in HRO or shared services environment

• Familiarity with IRS Form 8850 and state unemployment regulations

Job Requirements:

• Any Bachelor's degree

• 2–4 years of relevant experience (Analyst)

• Willingness to work in core night shifts (mandatory)

• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
