Designation: HRBP Specialist

Location: Mumbai (Full-time, Office-based, required to travel to remote locations)

Reporting to: Manager HRBP

Work experience: 6 8 years

Role Summary

The HRBP Specialist is a hands-on strategic partner for assigned business units in a fast-moving start-up environment with a semi-mature HRBP model. The role balances executional excellence (policies, employee lifecycle, ER) with business-facing influence driving measurable improvements in productivity, manager capability, engagement and retention. We need a high-quality candidate who raises HR standards, builds credibility with leaders, and converts people insights into concrete business outcomes.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

1. Business partnering & strategy execution

  • Act as primary HR advisor to HODs: translate business goals into people plans (workforce plan, role design, productivity KPIs).
  • Design and drive practical initiatives that improve productivity and manager effectiveness.

2. Employee lifecycle & experience

  • Own onboarding/induction effectiveness and early engagement touchpoints.
  • Ensure robust attendance & leave governance and standard operating procedures.
  • Run frequent 1:1s and team diagnostics to maintain early-warning detection.

3. Performance & talent management

  • Drive high-quality PMS execution: goal quality, timely calibration, PIPs and development plans.
  • Strengthen hiring capability: interview scorecards, structured debriefs, decision hygiene.

4. Employee relations & case management

  • Manage grievances and employee relations end-to-end with clear SLAs investigate, document, resolve, and follow up.
  • Provide practical, legally sound policy interpretation and coach managers on fair application.

5. Engagement, retention & attrition prevention

  • Lead eNPS recovery plans and phased pulse survey program with measurable action plans and impact tracking.
  • Use data to identify attrition/risk cohorts and deploy targeted retention interventions.

6. HR projects, analytics & systems enablement

  • Deliver priority HRBP projects (Annexure II): dashboards, automation to reduce manual work, unified HRBP metrics.
  • Use HR analytics to present business-grade insights and predict risks.

7. Governance & capability uplift

  • Ensure consistent policy adherence and audit readiness.
  • Coach first-line managers on people leadership, PMS conversations and basic employment law.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (HR / Business / Social Sciences).
  • 68 years total HR experience with 5+ years in an HRBP or senior generalist role (startup / high growth / people-intensive preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience in hospitality, real estate, retail or service industries preferred.
  • Proven record of delivering measurable HRBP projects (performance, engagement, retention).
  • Strong stakeholder influencing and conflict resolution track record.
  • Hands-on with HRIS/HR analytics tools and Excel/data analysis.
  • Experience implementing HR systems, dashboards or process automation.
