A growing international engineering organization is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and own the Human Resources function for its operations in India.
Reporting directly to the HR Director (Europe) and working closely with the CEO (India), this role offers a unique opportunity to act as the primary HR leader for the country, driving both strategic people initiatives and day-to-day HR operations.
We are looking for a hands-on, business-oriented HR professional who thrives in an autonomous environment and can partner effectively with leadership while managing the complete employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Operations
- Lead all HR activities for employees across multiple offices in India.
- Manage employee records, HR documentation, policies, and HR administration.
- Develop and continuously improve HR processes, policies, and employee programs.
- Provide HR metrics, workforce insights, and reporting to local and global leadership.
Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for engineering, project management, technical, and corporate functions.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify workforce needs and recruitment strategies.
- Drive sourcing, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and employer branding initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with recruitment partners, universities, and professional networks.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees in India.
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance, and people management topics.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Foster a positive, high-performance, and engagement-focused culture.
Performance & Talent Development
- Coordinate performance management and goal-setting processes.
- Support employee development, succession planning, and learning initiatives.
- Identify organizational training needs and coordinate development programs.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
- Support compensation reviews, benchmarking, and benefits administration.
- Coordinate payroll inputs and ensure accuracy.
- Ensure full compliance with Indian labor laws and statutory requirements.
- Manage employment contracts, employee separations, audits, and compliance reporting.
HR Business Partnering
- Partner with business leaders on workforce planning and organizational growth.
- Support change management and organizational development initiatives.
- Provide practical HR guidance aligned with business priorities.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 12–16 years of progressive HR experience.
- At least 5 years in an HR Manager, HR Lead, or standalone HR role.
- Proven experience independently managing the full HR function.
- Strong recruitment experience, particularly for engineering and technical talent.
- Experience in engineering companies is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple office locations is an advantage.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- MBA or Master's degree in Human Resources preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience with payroll coordination and benefits administration.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in English; Hindi is highly desirable.
