HR Generalist – Shared Services (North America & LATAM)

Role Summary:
The HR Generalist will manage end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle, supporting North America and LATAM regions. The role requires strong process orientation, compliance adherence, stakeholder management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced shared services environment
.
Key Responsibilities
1. Onboarding & pre-joining
- Manage end-to-end onboarding activities including offer validation, documentation, and system onboarding (HRIS).
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition, IT, Payroll, and vendors for seamless Day 1 readiness
- Ensure compliance with country-specific onboarding requirements (I-9 for US, local labor compliance for Mexico, Colombia, Canada)
- Track onboarding SLAs and ensure a smooth employee experience.
2. Background Verification (BGV)
- Initiate and track background verification checks through vendors
- Review BGV reports and highlight discrepancies or red flags
- Coordinate with stakeholders on BGV exceptions and closure
- Ensure compliance with regional data privacy regulations (GDPR/DPDP where applicable)
3. Employee Lifecycle Management
- Maintain employee records in HR systems (Oracle, Workday, etc)
- Process employee changes: promotions, transfers, compensation updates, and personal data changes
- Ensure data accuracy and timely updates aligned with payroll cycles
4. Payroll & Benefits Coordination
- Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure accurate inputs (new joiners, exits, changes)
- Support benefits administration and employee queries related to insurance, leaves, etc
- Validate payroll inputs to minimize errors and ensure compliance across reg
5. HR Helpdesk & Employee Queries
- Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries via ticketing systems.
- Ensure timely resolution of queries within defined SLAs.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and adherence to service delivery standards
6. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and statutory requirements across US, Mexico, Canada, and Colombia.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal/external audits.
- Ensure data privacy and confidentiality standards are strictly followed
7. Offboarding & Exit Management
Manage end-to-end exit process including resignation validation, clearance, and documentation
- Coordinate with payroll for final settlement (F&F)
- Conduct/track exit interviews and share insights.
- Ensure timely system deactivation and compliance with exit protocols.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of HR operations across global regions
- Knowledge of North America & LATAM labor regulations (basic level)
- Experience in HRMS tools (Oracle, Workday, SAP, etc.)
- Strong stakeholder management and communications
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent
- Experience in Shared Services or Global HR Operations
- Exposure to audit/compliance processes will be an added advantage
