Job Description

Job Title: HR Generalist / HR Manager

Company: Frigate Engineering Services Pvt Ltd

Location: Trichy (with occasional travel to Chennai for hiring)

Experience: 5+ years in HR generalist roles, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, or B2B industrial companies

About Frigate:Frigate is a B2B manufacturing execution platform connecting global buyers with reliable Indian manufacturers. We work across heavy engineering, sheet metal, machining, electrical, and contract manufacturing, with teams in Trichy and Chennai, and customers across 19 countries.

Role:This is a hands-on generalist role — you will run payroll, drive hiring, build learning and development, and manage employee relations, working directly with the founder and finance teams in Trichy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll & Compliance — Run monthly payroll, manage PF/ESI/PT/TDS compliance, statutory filings, and full-and-final settlements. Coordinate with finance on payroll accuracy and variable-pay calculations.
  • Talent Acquisition — Own end-to-end hiring across engineering, sales, sourcing, and production roles. Build pipelines, screen, coordinate interviews, manage offers and onboarding. Active hiring through FY27 including production engineers in Chennai.
  • Learning & Development — Build structured onboarding, identify skill gaps, and organize technical and behavioral training.
  • Performance & HR Operations — Support the appraisal cycle and the fixed-plus-variable compensation framework, maintain HR records and policies, handle employee queries.
  • Employee Relations — Be the trusted point of contact for the team across Trichy and Chennai. Manage grievances, retention, and culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as an HR generalist, ideally in manufacturing/engineering/industrial setups
  • Strong hands-on payroll and statutory compliance knowledge (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, labor law)
  • Proven hiring track record across technical and non-technical roles
  • Comfortable with a mixed blue-collar and white-collar workforce across locations
  • Exposure to KRA/KPI and performance management systems is a plus
  • MBA/PGDM in HR preferred, not mandatory if experience is strong
  • Fluent in Tamil and English; Hindi a plus
  • Based in Trichy or willing to relocate
